Roller Hemming System
Roller Hemming System
The robotic roller hemming system consists of a standard industrial robot integrated with a roller hemming head, offering a very flexible solution. The roller hemming head consists of a central body, with guides and rollers that are designed according to the geometry of the car component.
In principle, it is a simpler and more economic system than tabletop hemming, offering a higher degree of flexibility. The roller hemming technology can be used both for steel and aluminium parts.
If the flange angle is wider than 105°, a pre-roller hemming system is necessary.
Roller Pre-Hemming Station
- Flange bending from 145° to 105°
- Maximum passes for pre-hemming operation: 2
- Maximum speed for linear hemming section: 700 mm/sec
- Medium speed: 300 mm/sec
- Maximum load: 200 Kg /linear cm
- Number of rollers on hemming head: 5
Roller hemming station
- Move flanges of closures parts from 105° to 0°
- Tool working perpendicular to flange, to use the robot axis in the best way
- Minimum passes for hemming operation: 3, therefore:
from 105° to 60°
from 60° to 30°
from 30° to 0° - Maximum speed for linear hemming section: 700 mm/sec
- Medium speed 350 mm/sec
- Maximum load 200 Kg /linear cm
- Number of rollers on hemming head: 5
